MEAT MATE's Beijing Olympic Center flagship reawakens primal craft in urban communion, elevating SI 2.0 into a layered fusion of market vitality and modern repose. Deconstructing the enclosed shell, the design reassembles retail and dining as interlocking pods—echoing European open markets' untamed spirit, where stalls pulse like veins in a living organism.
Fragmented yet fluid, the space unfolds as an internalized street: open kitchen, meat forge, chilled displays, and feasting zones dissolve boundaries, inviting sensory dialogue between motion and ritual.
Windowed stages frame the butcher's drama—processing chambers and frosted vaults as static sentinels alive with flesh's theater. The entrance, veiled in dark gray semi-matte tiles warmed by wood veins, recedes in subtle layers, a threshold to communal reverie. Terrazzo floors and decorative tiles evoke market grit, while black-white striped canopies infuse rhythmic vitality into the mall's uniformity.
Zoning carves interconnected realms: retail pulses with copper hoods crowning the hearth, stainless rods suspending hooks like trophies of tradition. An L-shaped metal counter extends welcome, its red stone block homage to the cleaver's edge. The central grill exhales aromas, binding senses to craft.
Dining envelops in wooden lattice veils, framing gray mirrors and red-white glazed walls—a mosaic of warmth. Embedded cabinets and dry-aging crypts stand as epicurean totems, while chestnut leather booths and black-steel tables forge robust intimacy.
MEAT MATE manifests seamless fusion: dissolving interior-exterior divides, balancing frenzy and serenity. In modest extravagance, the butcher shop transcends transaction, nurturing urban bonds through the poetry of provision.
