STUDIO  



DESIGN AT PRESENT (DAP), a spatial practice established in 2023 by Yao Yao and Tseng Yinying, operates across Shanghai and Taipei. Rooted in cross-cultural practice, the studio focuses on contemporary commercial scenes such as experiential F&B, boutique hospitality, and curated retail, exploring how space becomes an active site for presence, where perception and memory unfold beyond the reach of consumerism. 


DAP’s understanding of “at present” (In-situ) goes beyond mere visual aesthetics. It is a conscious approach to trigger spontaneous connections between individual and space, brand and context. Responding to the contextual reality of each project, the studio begins with spatial conditions, functional needs, and the choreography. Through a disciplined orchestration of material, light, detail, and movement, DAP cultivates spaces that grow over time—serving as open vessels that embrace unfolding narratives, versatility and adaptive reuse."
